Denise Carr attended Florida State University on a vocal performance scholarship shortly after winning the International Voice Competition hosted by Stetson University. She became involved in the arts as a child and has either been on stage, working behind the scenes, or as an instructor ever since. She has worked in a variety of genres including contemporary and classical musical theater, acting, early renaissance, leading worship, as well as being an aerial artist in the Flying High Circus. As an instructor Denise has worked for Next Generation Kids, Central Florida Performing Arts, Athens Theater, as well as owning her own musical theater and acting studio in Orlando, FL called Voices of Joy. One of Denise's greatest pleasures is watching students blossom and grow through theater, voice, speech and debate. It is her belief that the arts allows students to embrace the truth that each person is a special and unique voice and it is their job to develop, refine, and then share their gifts with their community.
